In the event of abusive language (insulting), assault, intimidation/threatening, throwing objects, or exerting undue pressure on the visa receptionist, visa issuance may be restricted for up to three years.

 

In addition, visa issuance may be restricted for up to three years if it is confirmed that false information is stated or written in the visa application process, false documents are submitted, or it is confirmed that the subject documents have been forged or altered.

 

Please be aware of the above and be careful not to be disadvantaged when applying for a visa.

 
 
Processing Time
 

The processing time for each visa application varies depending on the type of visa and the complexity of the documents. The regular processing time is minimum 2 weeks.

 

Please make sure to plan in advance for your submission to ensure your timely departure. (Flight schedules, etc. do not fall under the reason for expedited visa screening process). Applicants are recommended to apply for their visa 1.5 – 2 months in advance during high seasons in summer and winter.

 

 

Forgery and Fraudulent Documents
 

Please be aware that any action of forgery or falsification of any visa application supporting document will be treated with the maximum severity by the ROK Embassy and by the Immigration Offices in Korea.  

Forgery is considered an illegal act by the Government of Korea.

 

Examples of Illegal Acts include:

  • Falsify the ownership of a social insurance certificate;
  • Falsify the ownership of a tax certificate;
  • Falsify the purpose of the visa pretending to be a student;
  • Falsify the marriage certificate with a multiple entry visa owner to request a multiple entry visa;
  • Pay a person who is somehow connected with the Embassy to obtain a visa.

 

Please note that the ROK Embassy in Berlin verifies every document submitted for visa application.

 

 

Students
 

Note all Korean documents (e.g. Business Registration Certificate, Certificate of Admission) can only be submitted if they have been issued within the last 3 months.

All supporting documents other than Visa Application Forms can be submitted in KVAC Location Language/English/Korean.  Please avoid sending original documents unless specifically requested.  Photocopies (except for Passports) are generally accepted.

Important Notes for completing the Visa Application Form
 

·         The Visa Application Form must be filled in English or Korean.  Application Forms filled in any other language will not be accepted.

 

·         The Visa Application Form must be printed on A4 format and in single pages. Do not staple the form.

 

·         In case of Confirmation of Visa Issuance, the Confirmation of Visa Issuance number received by the ROK Immigration Office must be noted on the Visa Application Form for Confirmation of Visa Issuance (Form no. 21) along with address and contact information in Korea on a separate A4 paper.

 

·         All documents in any language other than English must be translated into Korean or English, with the exception of German language for submission to KVAC Berlin and French for KVAC Paris.

 

·         All documents issued in Korea need to be issued within 3 months.

 

·         The ROK Embassy in Berlin can, at any time, require the applicant for additional documents or an interview. The applicant will be notified by KVAC.

 

·         The passport must be submitted in original. The validity of the passport must be at least 6 months from the date of the visa application submission at KVAC.

 

·         The picture must meet the requirements of the ROK Ministry of Justice: not older than 6 months from the date of the visa application submission at KVAC, 3.5X4.5 cm, white background, straight looking, no sunglasses or reflex, ears and eyes well visible. Note that the ROK authorized agencies, KVAC, and the ROK Embassy have the right to request you to take a new picture.
